I know I suck.

Just so you know I know. Life gets hectic and the last thing I can think of is getting my *you know what* in gear to do any type of blog post...it's survival of the fittest around here right now and I just don't have the time or energy to get here...sorry.

I have been working on my gratitude journal and hope to share when it is done, but I accidentally printed out some pics that were the wrong size and since I had them already in hand and a brand spankin' new Studio Calico kit I decided that today was a day for scrapping (and grocery shopping, laundry and thanksgiving prep)!

So I made 2 LOs...I am in love with AC POW papers and cutting them in my cameo! these files came from the Studio Calico cut it out class that is going on this month.

the first LO is celebrating our fabulous, one of a kind, neighbors!

and the second is all about the relationship that mags has with jas...so glad that they have each other!

I would love to say that I will do better, but really it is a crap shoot around here...so I will post when I can and hope you can stop by and say hi every now and again!

happy thanksgiving!

what happened?

school started...that's what.  and I am never quite expecting how busy it is going to be or how it will totally disrupt our summer and we have nothing to do schedule!  I have been crafting, just not posting, so today I will share the projects I have made with my Studio Calico Summer of '69 kit...all of these LOs were made with the main kit...

hope you are enjoying your back to school, fall schedule...I will get back into the groove somewhere around halloween!

mini book obsession

I think a mini book is a perfect gift for just about any occasion and I am trying to use up some stuff that I just had to have, but really had no use for...enter a baby shower and some old SEI, hand stitching and a doily and you get this...

just a little something to pack in your purse to show an adorable little baby.

Studio Calico Elmwood Park

at first glance, I wasn't really into this kit, but the more I use it, the more I love it...it has been perfect for 4th of July LOs and some cards so I thought I would share what I have done with it so far...

4th of July...a lift of the fabulous Shanna Noel for a layout a week challenge at SC.

and I had to use it for the baseball game and firework pics too...for the Sunday sketch challenge at SC.

and I used it for a LO of mags and her buddy K riding the cows...

and 3 cards...
a congratulations card for the weekly layering challenge at SC.

a happy birthday card.

and some welcome back cards for some of my peeps from school...yikes, we go back on the 16th!

plus the LO from the write your own story LO from the previous post...so that is 4 LOs and 6 cards (I made 4 with the girls)...still have a way to go to finish it up, but it looks like there is light at the end of the tunnel!

I get by...

with a little help from my friends...you know how that song goes! so when asked to make some inspirational pages for a project that will help out women and children there was no hesitation...so I hopped on over to Dina Wakley's blog for some messy inspirational inspiration and here are 3 LOs that I hope can help...and all it took was 3 papers from a BG basics paper pack that I got at HL on clearance, a few scraps of paper, paint, mist, black thread a few stickers and veneer stars and just a little bit of time.

write your own story...using my Elmwood Park kit from SC...the white butterflies have tulle sewed on them are are very fluffy!

it is not using my Studio Calico city of lights kit and some abroad paper too...

and be your own here...this one goes all the way back to Mind the Gap...that piece of yellow woodgrain paper has been sitting on my desk for ages (well almost 9 months now)...

and there you have it...
I would love to do more, but school is right around the corner and I need to get ready to go back to work :(

back to scrapping

and a couple of LOs to share!
the first is a pic of my family from father's day...love them all to pieces!  I used one of the 2 exclusive SC papers from the kit...I have been hoarding it because I missed out on it, but I only have a tiny bit of the kit left, so it must be used up!

the next one is of mags having lunch today at our favorite lunching place...it was for the member lift at SC and I used my So Cal kit and some odds and ends embellies from previous kits.

mags is at a birthday party/sleep over...so I may have some time to get in some more scrapping if the wine doesn't get in the way :)

Lake Sam Rayburn part 2

This is the second little mini I made as a gift for mags' cousin who went to the lake with us...again using the hipstamatic pics from my phone...I just looked at the pics taken with my big camera and I should have included some of those, but that will have to be another project for another day!

Lake Sam Rayburn

Mags and I took a little road trip to Lake Sam Rayburn for a few days...mags had her first boat ride and her first tubing adventure...the weather cooperated so that in between rain storms we could get out on the lake and even watch the sunset!
So you know that I had to do something with all of the Hipstamatic pics I took on my phone while we were gone...I made 2 minis...one for mags and one for her cousin who celebrated her 12th birthday during our visit.  I had already made the foundations for mags' mini so I just had to add the pics and journaling...and while I was at it, just cutting a few more pages, adding some paint and some stitching didn't seem like that much extra work...I already had the pics which is usually my rate limiting step...so here we go...
road trip mini...I used my Studio Calico 35 mm kit mostly...love the HS file for the mini foundation!
