It's the last day of 2009. This year has gone by so fast! I received this quote in my email today and thought I would share it.
For last year's words belong to last year's language
And next year's words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a beginning.
~T.S. Eliot, "Little Gidding"
So I will call and end to 2009 only because I know that I am beginning fresh with 2010. Have a happy.happy and safe NYE!!

it's almost 2010
That sounds weird! but it's true!
I usually don't make resolutions but this year I have picked out a word to embrace throughout the year 2010...acceptance.
Acceptance for myself and for others, acceptance for things I cannot change and for things I could try to change but just don't have the time or energy for...and I'm sure there are a million other things that will come up through out the year...so I made this with my december studio calico kit...
it has a library pocket on it so I can add reminders to myself...kind of like the worry dolls...does anyone remember those? anywhooo...
I used some shimmerz spritz (LOVE this stuff) and paint for the background...and some stitching around the edges of the mask.

happy day after christmas
Hope you all had a happy, fun-filled christmas. We had a wonderful day filled with family, good times and of course, presents. I even had a little time for scrapping. I can't even remember the last time I did a LO...and it felt good...I used my studio calico december kit!
Pics I took of mags for the christmas cards that never got made...and therefore, never sent!
and some close up of the velum circles that I stamped with permanent ink, spayed with treasured hymn shimmerz spritz, heat with my heat gun and then trimmed in gold stickles...the heating made the velum crinkle up a little bit and I really like the effect!
and I even stitched up the BG alphas...
Spending more time with the family today...hope you have a wonderful day!
MWAH!

on the monday before christmas
my true love gave to me...a gingerbread house covered in candy! after a rough start...we finished our gingerbread house...I almost gave up and threw it in the trash...but mags says it is the best one ever...
and she decided she wanted to hang the advent tags on the fire place screen...so I added some little magnets to the back and she hung them up...

HOLIDAY....CELEBRATE!!
I am officially on holiday...no more work for the next two weeks!! woot!! So what did I do to start off my holiday...I stayed in my pjs all day and finished up these...
I didn't use one single full size piece of paper...these were all scraps...and I'm glad to have done something with them...
here are some up close...
I think 25 is my favorite!

it's wednesday
Nothing like a random mid week post...but I just had to share this adorable christmas craft!
Over the thanksgiving holiday, I need to keep 4 girls ages 7-13 busy...not an easy task I might add...but this did it and it was really a lot of fun!
I pre-cut shapes from American Crafts foil paper using my much neglected quickuts and spellbinder dies...then the sparkle girls attached them to transparent string that I picked up in the jewelry section of my local Hobby Lobby. We used Aleene's tacky glue and it worked like a charm! We added jingle bells and beads and then I tied them to twigs covered in sparkly glass!
Now it sits on my entry table with all of my christmas cards...I love it!
and some up close shots
Thanks to my sparkle girls for making some of the ornaments for the sparkle tree!
