it's been a long week

and I'm so glad that it is saturday! I had some time this week to do some scrapping for the CHA challenges and the sunday sketch at studio calico.

First up is a pic of me and mags...that just never happens...taken by my niece when they were here for a visit over thanksgiving! I used my latest studio calico kit and my martha stewart butterfly punches (I seem to be using these alot)! The challenge was to use hearts on a LO...I misted the canvas heart with red maya road mist...and the other is paper...both cut with spellbinders nested hearts...

Next is my Sunday sketch LO...a new sketch is posted every Sunday on the studio calico blog and you have a week to finish it! I used pieces parts from my past 2 kits...and my martha stewart butterfly punches again!

happy holiday monday!

I had a whole extra day to get my scrap on this weekend...finished 2 LOs and another one is on the way...go me!
The first one is a challenge to lift a favorite LO from Studio Calico. I lifted this fabulous LO...there are so many talented members over there...but this LO really captured my heart.

I used a little piece of stamped and embossed velum (ala Tim Holtz) as the photo mat and curled it up around the pic...

Next I did a LO for the Inspired Bluedprints #40 sketch challenge...and also for a little challenge with an awesome group of ladies that I am honored to call my least 5 pics, 5 pps from 5 different manufacturers, 5 things from your stash, 5 pieces of chipboard, 5 brads, eyelets or buttons...whew!

happy scrappy saturday!

I have a couple of LOs to share today...and I am on target to finish more this weekend...gotta love that!
Studio Calico has a sketch challenge on Sundays and you have until Saturday at midnight to finish...that's my kind of deadline!
Here is my take on this week's sketch...using my Studio Calico kit Orchestra...a pic of mags a sweet little friend of hers making some very sugary star cookies...

studio calico,christmas

and I didn't even take into consideration when I was planning that the MM glitter frame might make it difficult to put down my picture mat...I should have cut the frame, but it was already down when I went to adhere my I just backed the mat with some old chipboard and raised up all the stuff around the and learn:)

yum details

Studio Calico also has an awesome challenge forum...this week the challenge was to use a banner on a LO...I have been wanting to do this so it was a good challenge for me! I used my Orchesta kit for this LO you sense a trend here?

That's mags with my brother's pictures that capture how truly happy they are when they are together...sigh.

I don't think I have scrapped anything in the last month that hasn't been a challenge somewhere...when I am lacking motivation, that's what I turn'll get me through the lull and hopefully I will come out on the other side better for it!

Have a great weekend...mwah!

Happy Saturday

It is freezing cold here in Texas and so what better way to spend time than scrapping up some pics!

The first layout was done for the Sunday Sketch Challenge posted on the Studio Calico blog...I used my Studio Calico kit, of course! It is a pic I took during my pic a day November for my gratitude journal.

and a close up of the sass flower...I cut the petals to give it a little dimension.
